CHILD PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER (CPDC)
Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC) is the first and only privatized protection center for child victims in Eastern region of Thailand. CPDC has been providing help and support to underprivileged, sexually abused, violence, exploitation and human trafficking victims. CPDC provides holistic help and support to children 5-18 years of age by the multidisciplinary team with integrity in accordance with laws, legislation, principles and guidelines. CPDC provides superior rehabilitation and development with 1 full-time professional psychologist, 4 licensed social workers, 1 certified nurse and a well-trained and very committed team of staff in a “loving and family-like” environment.
Unlike other shelters, CPDC extends its support to children although they exceed the age of 18 via vocational diploma and university scholarships. For many of the occasions, CPDC accepted cases beyond government and private shelters’ capability such as children who were severely abused and children with disorder.
Furthermore, CPDC includes a wide range of job- related and activities to ensure that the children can stand on their own feet once they leave the center and make a living from their special talents such as Decoupage handicraft, GO, Dancing, Sewing, farming, cooking and etc. Integrated into CPDC is the “Sustainable farming project” with approximately 5-Rai area (8,000 SqM.). The project has developed into major job-related and life skills development and major food source of the foundation. The farm applies 100% organic approaches and emphasizes on reducing the CO2 footprints along the process. With the average annual production of nearly 3 tons from over 50 species of fruits, vegetables, eggs, fishes, etc. of, the farm has saved approximately 35% of money spent on food for the children. The state-of-the-art and award-winning AQUAPONICS system is also situated in CPDC farm, which is now a famous community learning center with thousands of visitors per year.
Use of donation funds: CPDC wishes to use the fund to purchase additional equipment for the Aquaponics system such as water chiller, ventilation fans and etc. to maximize the quality and quantity of the vegetable productions.
